About Me

A little something about me.

Before I am Therapist, I am firstly human with my own experience of challenging life experiences.  It was these life experiences which led me to train as a Therapist.  I am a wife and mother of two grown up sons.  I love to paint, explore ancestry, be around nature and spend time with my two boisterous Weimaraners.

How I work

I trained as a Person centred Therapist and went on to train in Cognitive Behaviour, Attachment and Clinical Supervision. I am also Trauma informed and IFS informed (internal Family Systems)

I work with an Integrative/Pluralistic approach which is aimed at working in a way that best suits your needs as an individual.

I have training in Suicide, Sexual abuse, Anxiety, Depression, Mind-body illnesses and Trauma and have experience of working with clients who have a diagnosis of Dissociative Identity Disorder.  I work in a non pathologising way, exploring life experiences rather than a diagnosis.

I am a member of the BACP and I comply with their rules regarding confidentiality and their ethical framework which you can learn more about here.. (www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework/)

I offer you a nurturing, calm environment to explore your experiences.  I understand that starting therapy can be very daunting and I endeavour to help make you to feel at ease.

The therapeutic relationship is built on trust and honesty and my priority is to enable you to feel heard and understood without judgement.

This in itself can help you to feel less alone and that someone is hearing you and this can bring lots of comfort and relief and a feeling of being less burdened.

Therapy can help you to develop a better understanding of yourself and your issues, can build your confidence and help you to make better choices to enhance your life.
